Ground Chicken Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas, or taco shells
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Ground Chicken
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onions to the skillet and sauté until they are translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- Cook the chicken until it is no longer pink inside, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the Chicken
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the cooked chicken.
- Stir well to coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Assemble the Tacos
- Warm the tortillas in a microwave or on a hot skillet for a few seconds on each side.
- Place a spoonful of the seasoned ground chicken onto the center of each tortilla or taco shell.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced avocado, shredded cheese, and a spoonful of salsa.
- If desired, add a dollop of sour cream on each taco.
- Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
- Serve
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
