- Add ground turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
- Stir in tomato paste and chicken broth. Simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Meanwhile, boil sweet potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with milk and butter.

- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling.
Herb-infused Goodness
The star players in this dish are undoubtedly the rosemary and thyme. These herbs not only add a delightful aroma but also infuse the dish with a warmth that perfectly complements the sweet potato and turkey. As you’re cooking, take a moment to inhale deeply – the scent of these herbs will transport you to a cozy cottage in the countryside!
Oven-Baked Perfection
Baking this shepherd’s pie in the oven allows all the flavors to meld together beautifully. The sweet potato topping gets a slight crisp on the outside while remaining creamy underneath. It’s pure comfort in every bite!
Serving Suggestions
Serve this hearty pie straight from the oven, when it’s bubbling and golden. A side of steamed green beans or a crisp salad makes for a perfect accompaniment. And if you’re feeling indulgent, why not pair it with a glass of robust red wine?
This Sweet Potato and Turkey Shepherd’s Pie is more than just a meal – it’s a hug in a dish. The combination of lean turkey and nutrient-rich sweet potatoes makes it a healthier alternative to the traditional version, without sacrificing any of the comfort or flavor.
So, why not give this twist on a classic a try? Your taste buds (and your family) will thank you!
Happy cooking, and enjoy your cozy evening in!
